and can you explain the differences in sharpening measurements.
and all that hollow-inch radius stuff.
PLEASEEE HELP!!
As Easton never came with T-blades installed from the manufacturer, you most likely have 280's on the skate but it is possible for it to be a 288, it should be stamped into the holder itself. Here is the hollow breakdown:
9--- 5/16''
11--- 3/8''
13--- 7/16''
15--- 1/2''
18--- 5/8''
21--- 3/4''
The 9 will have the deepest hollow and sink into the ice the most, the 21 will be the shallowest of the hollows, more for bigger players that don't want to dig into the ice as much.

Any one out there tried the Easton Stealth S9 Senior Ice Hockey Skates? Could be a long shot but figured I'd try here. I play every week, am 23, and have been playing since I was a kid. Last time I bought skates was about 9 years ago but they are missions and I just broke a blade. Since mission in out of business cannot get new blades to fix what is a awesome pair of skates.
The fit will be a little different going from a Mission skate to an Easton skate. The heel will be similar in width but the toe box is going to be a little wider on the Easton skate. As the S9 has an original price of $199.99 it will be fairly supportive and come with a stainless steel blade which is nice. If you are only skating one day a week this would most likely be sufficient for your needs, if you are skating multiple days a week you may want to jump to the the S12 as it is a stiffer skate and would not only be a little more performance driven but also would last you for a few more years.

Im 17 I dont get to play very much but i would like to start playing some pickup games and stuff like that. and just rec skating. So id rather not spend over around $150 but alittle over is ok. ive been looking at a few that look pretty nice. Im not sure what brand is the best. i think bauer looks best but not sure about quality. also the closest place that sells them is 35 min. away so ill have to order them probably (ohio is not a hockey state) especially in pathetic tuscarawas county. any way these are some I was looking at please point me in the right direction ha.

if you are happy to have kit sent from Wales, UK try www.prolineskates.co.uk. Good value, fair amount of choice!
hey everyone i recently baught a pair of easton s7's of my friend, they are good skates but because of the auto break in they are currently moulded into his feet, because of this i have a blister. everytime i get into the skates there is a bit inside that keeps on rubbing against the blister and it hurts alot, so much that sometimes i cant skate, i was wondering wether i should let the auto break in continue or get them heat moulded??
(BTW when he first got the skates he had them heat moulded)
It might take a cople moldings, depending how much he used them. You may also need to get parts "punched out". If you don't know what this is, they basically take an instrument and press on a specific spot of the boot that is rubbing against your foot too much. This will relieve pressure in those areas (usually near the ball of your foot, or the ankles).
Would really like your opinion i have a chance to pick up a pair for a good price (only reason I'm considering). I'm on the good side of an intermediate player coming out of a pair of 652 supertacks...heavy!! but comfy. Time for a change
Thanks means alot...
I have those skates and they are not comfortable to me. There is a piece of the skate the catches my toe nail every time I put them on! And I feel like I was never able to really break them in. I am shopping for a new pair soon.

Easton EQ50 Ice Hockey Skates « Hockey World Blog
Almost a year ago, we posted a preview of a new Easton skate called the EQ5 , which despite being worn by NHL players such as Henrik Zetterberg, never made it to retail production. Well here we are a year later, and we’ve got a sneak peak at the new Easton EQ50 ice hockey skate.
Easton went back to the drawing board for this top end skate, and corrected some flaws from the EQ5. They also gave the skate a new look, going away from the gray and using a more traditional black boot, with an EQ50 graphic near the rear portion of the boot.
