I am looking to but a new stick and could do with some help on the caracteristics and advatages and disadvantages of diffrent blade patterns.
I have been playing hockey for 18 years so trust me when I tell you this. There is no best blade/pattern. What you want to do is buy some cheaper wooden sticks with different patterns and use them. You need to find out what gives you the best shooting, passing, etc...
There are some basics. Larger curve usually works better for a goal scorer. A flatter blade usually works more for a passer. A stronger stick (harder to break that is) would be good for penalty killing (even though sticks now have standards that they have to have the same fail rates so that might now be possible).
I have found that the shortest blade (for your height) gives you the most control especially when it comes to shot accuracy but the longer stick (that your height will allow) gives more reach and possibly a harder shot but with less control. I prefer a stick that is heavier so I know it's there while others want it to feel as if it' not there so they go with a really light stick.
When it comes to price keep in mind that some of the best in the world were still using wood long after the aluminum, carbon, and composite sticks came onto the market.
Again, you need to determine the best for your preference. No matter what others answer there is no best blade/pattern.

I am having trouble finding a hockey stick that suits me. Brands that I think I like are Easton, Nike, and Warrior. I really do not know what different blades are good for, or what different flexes do. So if you could give me a little help, i would much appreciate it
Its all about your style bro. You can buy the top of the line stick but if your not comfortable with it its not going to do you a lick of good. I personally use a sher-wood rm19 with a Bouchard curve. I love it! Go to a local Hockey shop that has guys who know what their doing. Tell them your problem they should be able to help you out. As for flex ask them too. Flex test them and see what you think. Stronger flex is more a of a slap shot kind of stick. Where as a weaker flex gives you that whip kind of motion for harder wrist shots.
Hope this helps good luck!
Mission is the most reliable fit because they tend to fit very close one's shoe size. Performance wise, from my background in ice hockey, I tend to prefer CCM / Reebok or Bauer. If price is no issue and they're playing in a competitive league, you may want to get an ice hockey boot and have it customised with a chassis, wheels, bearings ..
What are you looking for in a wrist shot?
Accuracy and control? Top shelf fast? Bit of both?
Forsberg has a slight curve, with a closed face, best for accuray, but will be harder to get the puck up.
Sakic has a deep curve, open face, best for getting the puck up quickly, but you lose some control.
Iginla has a medium curve, slightly closed face, somewhere in the middle of the Forsberg and Sakic.
I go to Rousseau sport sometimes but most of the time they have like 3-4 different curves only...(on carbon fiber blades)
Try Sports Experts, maybe expensive, but worth a shot.
Buy Cheap
What hockey blade should I use for an outdoor rink?
If you’re okay with a plastic blade, I’d check out something like the Cosom blades. This would be ideal if you were playing on the STREET, rather than a rink. If you ARE playing on a rink, any kind of blade works just fine. There isn’t much advantage to a composite or graphite blade. Most wooden blades should work just fine. If you are a lefty, I HAVE A SWEET DEAL FOR YOU!!! (2.99 per blade)-the first link below. If you are a righty, I don’t know what to tell you, above and beyond to check out the second link. I’d honestly just go with something cheap, unless you are on a honest league or something. If that were the case, I’d look in to lie, curve (depth and type), face (openness), length, toe, etc. that best suits you. For more info on that, check out the third link.
