Well - I am pulling for team USA and we have played pretty good so far. Dustin Brown has been a real stud and is our leading scorer. We have already made the quarterfinals and play Swiss today for positioning . I am looking forward to the game. Go USA!

I believe 15-0 is the largest shutout, that's what they were saying yesterday. I'm not sure if that was only for eam Canada though or every country.

IIHF world championship is held annually during the early part of May. Professionals are allowed to play. Those under contract to NHL teams are allowed to play if their teams are no longer involved in Stanley Cup or Calder Cup playoffs. And a big If, If their respective teams are willing and able to get contract insurance for the players. For example Ovechkin has a 124 Million contract with Washington. In order for Washington to release him to play for Russia. They are going to want an insurance policy that takes them off the hook for that money if he's injured.
Football (soccer) has the World Cup. Golf has the Masters. What do you think is the most prestigious international hockey tournament??

An Olympics Gold medal is not awarded every year and all countries can now ice their best players thanks to the NHL letting the players play. The World Cup of hockey may in fact ice some better teams though because it happens before a season and there tends to be fewer guys opting out due to injury.
The Juniors is a good measure of things to come. And the World Championships rarely sees the best players.
So the first two are a good Gage since each is only run every 4 years and has the best field. I'd put them on equal footing.
I want to be able to watch the 2009 IIHF U18 Women's World Hockey Championship Final between Canada and the US on January 10, 2009. The tournament is in Fussen, Germany. I would like to watch it either on TV or an online stream, I just do not know where. Thanks for your help

Cont. and I’m also willing to bet since I’ve actually taken the time to take classes on Russia at the university I bet I know a hell of a lot more about them then you do. As for the Leafs, you are prolly right but the same thing can be said about the other 5 Canadian teams as well. As for opening their mouths, well Canada has won 15 gold medals in this tourney WJC, as well as won the gold medal at the Olympics 2 out of 3 times. Russia has not even medaled most the time come Olympics lately.

I know this for personal experience and I have seen it personally living down here with my own eyes.
