I go to a school in NC and I was intrested in starting a hockey club/team. I was wondering if anyone has any advice/experience. Im sure I could round up at least 6 - 10 people. In normal hockey you need 6 people on the feild at once.

This would be roller hockey of course and I was wondering if there were any tournaments we could enter?

I started an adult beginner ice hockey team, so I can assume the process is about the same. I put out flyers, posted on local message boards and talked to everyone I knew. once I got enough people interested, I started talking to local rinks and leagues. For Ice you need 20 people (includes 2 goalies) for a team.

And by professional, I don't necessarily mean the NHL. Anyone familiar with hockey in Indy knows that we have had several minor league teams over the years, and currently have an amateur junior league team. I'm in favor of getting a pro minor league team back again. How would you make that happen?

Years ago my grandfather used to own the Checkers and the Racers. He also had the Owls over in Columbus, and the Pittsburgh Penguins for awhile in the late 70's. He never did it for the money. Look at the team we had to field in the NFL to sell out games. Indy is a long way away from supporting Hockey at a profitable level. We are the biggest fair weather fans in the nation. If a local resident loves the game, and has the money to burn. Thats our only chance.

I know that hockey teams switch sides after each period, but is there a ryhme or reason to what side the home team (or visiting team) start on?

The net closest to the Home Team's Players bench is where the home team starts the game.

I am 20 yrs old girl. I started interested in ice hockey a few month ago.
I am too late to join ice hockey team? I have basics in ice skate but not so good. I seldom went to the ice rinks because of my studies.
How much the equipment cost and did i have to buy it all that?

Yes, you are too late to start If you want to become a pro. As for your skating ability... not looking so good. But that's why you have coaches!
The equipment isn't that expensive... the price varies where you are.
