The Idaho Steelheads are the ECHL affiliate of the Dallas Stars, the Dallas Stars have had a no walk-on policy since the mid 1970s anywhere within the organization.
If you would like a try-out, you will have to contact the Dallas Stars and if they are interested, they will send somebody to see you.

Steelheads' Mark Derlago Named ECHL All-Star Captain | Big D Hockey
The Idaho Steelheads announced today that forward Mark Derlago has been chosen as the captain for the ECHL team at next week’s 2011 ECHL All-Star Classic.
A team of ECHL all stars, including Derlago and Kael Mouillierat from the Steelheads, will take on the Bakersfield Condors at the Rabobank Arena in Bakersfield on Wednesday, January 26.
Derlago will wear the “C” for the ECHL team, while Utah’s Jake Gannon and Cincinnati’s Brian O’Hanley will be the alternate captains.
The 25-year-old Derlago is tied for third in the ECHL in goals (20), is fourth in points (45), and is tied for seventh in assists (25) going into Friday night’s home contest against the division-leading Utah Grizzlies. It is his second ECHL All Star appearance, having also been named to the team in 2009 as a member of the Bakersfield Condors
