Need help purchasing ice hockey GOALIE equipment?

For the past couple summers I've been playing roller hockey with a couple buddies, and more often then not I've found myself playing goalie. I purchased some cheap roller hockey pads, and they got the job done. Currently, I want to make the transition from playing goalie in roller hockey to goalie in ice hockey.

I'm twenty years old and i'm 5'11 180lb. Im thinking I should get "34 pads but I've also heard of goalies my height getting "36 pads, so I don't really know what size to get. I found a pair of pads on ebay, they're TPS R4 and I heard pretty good things from searching the internet but if anyone has any additional input I would love to hear what you guys think.

Is it generally safe to purchase pads online? I need a blocker and a trapper and I was thinking I should get the TPS R4 as well, but Im wondering if I will have any problems with sizes? Or would senior be a safe bet. I also need skates and pants and the chest protector, I mean I guess I need EVERYTHING....

Any goalies have advice on how I should purchase my equipment, sizes, ect.... any input would be appreciated... Thanks in advance for your time

well first the pad size. with you being 5'11" the 34" will fit smaller than the 36" in this age alot of goalies like their pads bigger. I couldnt find any R4's that are sr size but if you found them then you csan give them a shot. although with them being only a sr level pad and not pro level they prolly wont last as long but thats ok because you are just starting. you will need atleast senior level equip.

I would suggest used equip because its usually cheaper and you can find some good quality stuff. but it is pre used.

The things i would buy brand new are; a goalie cup!! ( for obv. reasons lol), under armour (alot of goalies wear the underarmour pants instead of socks. its what i wear) and mad a helmet or a sweat band for the mask.

Here are some sites that u can find used equipment on;

They are both goalie talk sites and basically everyone on them will offer help if you ask for it.

i need hockey goalie equipment for a cheap price, any help?

my friends and i like to play roller hockey but none of us r goalies so i thought we could get some cheap equipment somewhere n one of us will play but i need help where i can get equipment cheap under $75 for pads, a chest protector, blocker, glove, and possibly a mask.

There has to be an old, generous goalie in your neighbourhood, right? Ask around. Good hunting!

Hockey goalie equipment question.?

I am 5 feet and 9 inches tall how big should i get my goalie pads for roller hockey? i know i should get senior but the problem is that idk if i should get 32" or 34" or 36" or maybe even 30" in senior

depend on the brand that u are going for. each company have it own size perset so let just take Reebok as ex. then u would get 34 if u were going with TPX then u need a bigger size it all depend on the brand like what i just siad

    -Increase the score. Good Idea? Bad idea?

    We talk about ways to increase the score in the NHL. They say it will make the game appealing for new and exciting for the fans older, but most hockey fans most fans I know are very conservative with their sport. It is thought … increase the size of the networks – to reduce the size of goalie equipment .. etc. The main problem comes from problems with the statistics. You should have two sets of statistics for almost everything. (Pre-size too big / small post-increment) a nightmare. I think a good idea to let fans vote on this issue.

    The fine matches, scoring very well and the networks are fine. If they have changed the size of the network (Do not think it will happen in my life), there would need "time "….. statistics after all, a look at Patrick Roy as a rookie compared to Roy as a veterinarian and can see that there are different "time "…….. era clutch and grasp ……. was the great team ……. the people seem always to what it is. Because people do not talk about how much earns a doorman there are five different years when carriers have less wins (not that). The reduction of goalie equipment is right IMO, but it would be, according to the NHLPA (They sell it by protecting )…… Luongo made said that he would retire.
