I've decided to start playing hockey again & join the town league, but it's been 4 yrs since I last played.
I was just wondering if anyone had any advice on how to prep myself for this. Keep in mind that my main plan is to play ice hockey, but I might play street hockey this summer just for some practice.
Street hockey is a great way to prep for the ice. To better simulate the ice, try skates with a rockered or hi lo chassis. Also try to play with a puck instead of a ball so you can get used to shooting with it. If you can learn to carry with your head up, make good passes, and get in shape you will be just fine when you go to ice.
Prep Hockey beat Hamden 5-2 in the State Quarterfinals at Bennett Rink, West Haven on March 12, 2011.
I was wondering if the Prep School Hockey Leagues in New England, I am attending Avon Old Farms this year, require a certified goalie cage or not. I want to get a Cat-eye for better vision, anybody now whether its legal or not?
no
only if your good. playing in high school may get you a scholarship if your good. the hockey camp will definitely make you better. if you aren't too good, then don't. do something else to get a scholarship
many people say just because Hoosac doesn't accept ssat scores they say it's a bad school. Can someone please tell me if it's a good school for education and compare it to other schools.
Also, does Hoosac have varsity and junior varsity teams for hockey and is it division 1 or 2.
Can Hoosac bring peopke to ivy league schools?
Thansks in advance
Hoosac is a prep school, nd any school can get someone into ivy league schools. but, at that school you would need to be really good at academics for a chance. Its not bad for college, its a college prepratory school, so..not too bad.
Also, for hockey its good, and they are recognized a school strong in hokcey. You would get some exposer as a player to scouts, maybe to get to the next level if your really good. Its probs. not gonna get you to juniors or D1, but maybe, and u might have a good chance at d3. You would need to go to a prep school like some schools out east that have stronger recognition as a power house hockey school, or like culver, ssm, or lfa. i recomend it tho.
Edit: responding to your other answers, its not d1 or d2..?..its highschool, ban yes they have V and JV
Is it true they have to melt the ice in the off season?
I don't really think there is certain "rules" that are different from other prep schools. But comparing it's a very prestigious, competitive, hard core, D1 league. Westminster, Avon, K-O, Loomis, Choate-Rosemary, Taft, Kent, and others that compete in it. It's just a very good league. But I think they do melt the ice in the off season so they don't have to spend excess money when people don't even use the rink. But for camps hosted by the school will use rinks nearby.
