OK, how about this: has anyone ever been to an OSU Lakers hockey game?

Best answer to the first person who correctly names their arch-rivals.
OK kids here's a hint: Both are SUNYAC teams.
Bob-Good guess, but wrong. They did beat Middlebury in OT for the NCAA Division III Title this past season, though!
Right-o zap! You can feel it on campus when it's the day of the Oswego-Plattsburgh game!

Oswego State? I'm guessing Plattsburgh.

Edit: Well there you go. I played NESCAC, but don't recall going against you guys.

What field did they play a college ice hockey game on?

It was over top of a football field i think in wisconsin does anyone know which it was i think it was osu vs wisconsin

The first college outdoor game was played at Spartan Stadium "The Cold War" in a game between U of M and MSU.If i remember correctly it was played in either 2001 or 2002(but the memory isnt what it used to be). It drew over 74,000 fans and was an attendance record gimmick. The Wisconsin - Ohio St game was later and was played at Lambeau field. I dont remember details about the Wis. game but also if i remember correctly it was played either last year or the year before. I dont know what the attendance was but the game was staged to attempt to break the MSU record attendance.

Michigan novelty cookies or candy ideas?

My brothers are all OSU alumni while my husband is from MI. Last xmas my brothers filled his suv with buckeyes. We were thinking that we would make either cookies or candy, relative to the state somehow and package them in blue and gold for xmas. The only thing I have found so far is chocolate hockey pucks. I wouldn't even know how to do that lol. Any other ideas?

MICHIGAN COOKIES

2 c. brown sugar
1 c. shortening
4 eggs
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
3 c. flour
2 c. raisins

Cream together brown sugar and shortening. Beat in eggs. Add remaining ingredients. Drop by spoon, flatten with glass dipped in flour or roll out and cut in rounds. Bake in 325 degree oven for 12 minutes.

A couple of off the beaten path hockey questions?

1. In the Pennsylvania House of Representatives a bill has been introduced aimed at enhancing concussion management in youth sports. At the heart of the bill measures have been laid out to protect interscholastic athletes from grades 7 to 12 restricting those young athletes who are suspected of having sustained a concussion or head injury until they have received written clearance from a licensed health professional to return to play. To date, PA teams representing MLB, NFL, NBA and the NHL have all chosen to support this bill save one, the Pittsburgh Penguins.

My question: what do you think the reasoning behind the Pens lack of support on this measure may be?

2. In recent weeks The Ohio State University has reached a deal to take over the management of non-sporting events at Columbus' Nationwide Arena, relieving the Blue Jackets of an estimated $1 million in operating costs.

http://www.dispatch.com/live/content/loc al_news/stories/2010/05/12/osu-to-help-g uide-arenas.html?sid=101

My question: do you think this is just an honest effort to right the financial ship or should we expect to see more dramatic changes for the franchise in the not too distant future?

1 the only bad part about bills like this is the amount of time that one would stand to loose out of their playing season when they get a concussion after like the second or third time you get one you are out for most of the season and concussions come easy i had one in highschool and one as an adult from sports and i didnt even play them and any real level...

2. I think that this was dont an a show of good faith in rick nash.. lets face it the man is the only reason they are anything and with the right support they could be a very dangers team i think we will see this trend contunie until they can stand on their own
