I know someone who did this with Red Wings about 4 years ago. He wrote the GM a letter explaining what he wanted & why and included a large white bed sheet and a return box with his address and postage already on it. It took about 2 months but he finally got it back, signed by the whole team.
If you do this (or something like it), be sure to get signature confirmation when you ship the package ... that way you KNOW that it was actually received, when and by whom. And for security reasons I would use a post office issued Priority box. You can order them for free right on their website (usps.com).
Good luck!
This is why we watch hockey. April 4th 2011.
... or the Philly Flyers, OR the Islanders? I'm kind of siding with the NJ Devils since I'm from Jersey and I have a friend that can get a deal on tickets, but I don't know... what do you think?
Go with Islanders. They need the support. (that is not a shot at the islanders, I do respect them)

Hi everyone. At my job I won the lottery and won tickets to the Ranger game for tonight. My boyfriend and I love hockey but I don't know much about it (rules, the players etc) I tried to find a good website to give me a rundown about the sport and the team and how the rules go cause I don't just wanna sit there watching a puck fly around without knowing whats going on. I wanna appreciate why I am being there. I would hope all hockey fans would like hearing that since Im sure there are a lot of people who would pay anything to go to this playoff game. Im excited. So can anyone give me a run down with whats going on with the rangers this season? thanks!

I'm a huge Yankee fan and a big Jets fan but this season I'm trying to get back into hockey. I was a Rangers fan when I was a kid back in the early 90s but I haven't followed hockey since then. I'm trying to get deep into this season, but unfortunately the only thing I know about is Avery and Lundqvist. Can someone catch me up? I've heard some things about Dubinsky and Del Zatto but that's about it. I'm interested to know everything about management and coaching staff as well as what to expect from who this season. Also would like to know any issues about last season that would carry on into this one or that are relevant and sometimes discussed. Any links would also be appreciated (blogs, etc.)
I have a few die-hard Islander friends also who think Tavares will part the red sea this season. Anything I can use to stand against them would be great too haha
You can tell the other guy isn't a ranger fan because half the players he talked about are no longer on the team, such as Paul Mara.
Starting with the Goaltender out, we have a great goaltender in Henrik Lundqvist. He is put under great pressures, and usually can hold up, unfortunately in year's past the defense crumbled and everything was left up to him.
We have a much younger team this year, and their was some fierce competition to gain spots on the roster, as Coach Tortorella runs a very aggressive game of hockey. The power play and penalty kill are looking better than last year, no longer making me want to gouge my eyes out. Basically the rangers went out and got a lot more aggressive young forwards, and a few veterans to avoid the power play no longer being a game of pass.
Del Zotto is the second youngest defensemen in rangers history, following Maloney and around the same age as when Leetch started. Stall is a good defensmen as well as Girardi who are still growing into becoming a fantastic hockey player. Rosival in my opinion as well as several other fans, should no longer be part of the defensive team at least with the rangers.
The rangers went out and got star Marian Gaborik in the offseason, he plays a high paced game of hockey, scores often and plays well, that is if he can stay healthy as he is REALLY injury prone.
We have avery and Brasher who both play a more physical game of hockey and act as team enforcers.
Dubyinski in my opinion was overpaid but can be a great addition as he is a young player learning the trade.
Ansismov and Lisin both russians, have been great in preseason thus far, Ansismov making a spectacular shorthander against boston's tim thomas.
Chris Drury brings to the team experience, and as captain it is his job to pass his knowledge to the younger players.
Note: This is my opinions and many may differ from my opinions. The Atlantic division is filled with many fierce competitors including the devils, penguins, and the flyers... and the islanders are in there too. The team could be in a transition year but they still have a good chance to play playoff hockey.
That's the talk going around right now but I don't see any confirmed links.
Ill be mad if the Coyotes don't get someone good out of this.
