they are a pro hockey team
for cleveland
how good...or bad... are they?
I watched a Grand Rapid Griffins vs. Lake Erie Monsters game and the Griffins whooped them. Lake Erie didnt look to good but you cant tell a team by one game. The Griffins have some big guns on their team to. Lake Erie being the minor team for Colorado avalanche cant be that great. Just look at Colorado!
The Lake Erie Monster's kick off their 4th season of hockey in Cleveland. This is a preview of the excitement over their first game.
"salary"
I looked it up awile ago and can't remember the exact number but I think the average AHL salary is in the 70,000$$ range.
Actually.....I think it is a bit lower.....more in the 60,000 range on average.
Alot of it depends on how their contract is structured...Alex Mogilny played in the AHL and I think he was on a one way contract making over 3 million......probably the same for Fleury this week down on a conditioning stint. Many guys have 2 way contracts where they make one amount in the AHL and one in the NHL.........it varies.
A Lake erie monsters team signed hockey stick, lake erie monsters team signed helmet, and a tom fritsche signed ohio state jersey
I would vary depending on what condition they are in.
ok so i went to go see the lake erie monsters play (hockey team) and ive never watched hockey before and i was wondering if any one could tell me what icing ment cuz they kept saying it so ya thx!! ;)
icing... when a player sends the puck all the way down ice from behind the center red line... thats basically it
I've been reading a lot on the Internet about how some people think that it would be best for Matt Duchene to either go back to Brampton and play a season there or head over to Colorado's AHL affiliate, the Lake Erie Monsters, because he isn't quite at the NHL level yet. But I've read all of the reports that the Avalanche have been giving about him and it seems that they can't get enough of this kid over there; he's doing REALLY well. So, if he does play with the big boys this season, might this possibly hurt his growth as a hockey player? Could the Avs get it all wrong and accidentally keep him at a higher level than he's capable of playing at?
Initially he can't go to the Monsters. As an OHL player and still Junior age there are only two alternatives. He can stay in the NHL or return to Junior.
If the Avalanche are going to play him as a third or fourth line player and only get 8-10 minutes per game, he is best returned to Junior where his game will develop further.
Best gauge of whether a player is to remain in Junior or play at the NHL level is based on ice time. If he plays as a top four defenceman or top six forward he should play NHl, otherwise return to junior.
Europeans or NCAA players are different, they can play in the AHL or ECHL or other pro leagues.
Hundred Degree Hockey: Gameday Preview: Stars v. Lake Erie Monsters
Lake Erie hails from the North Division but is not one of the division's elite teams. The Monsters, who feed the Colorado Avalanche, are currently in last place in the North and last place overall in the conference. The Stars hold a 3-1-1-0 all time record against the Monsters, including a win this year in Cedar Park on October 22. In that game, Texas was down late in the third and came back on a penalty shot from Colton Sceviour and a Francis Wathier tally on a wraparound with 41 seconds left in the game to win it 3-2. Lake Erie comes in having lost their last two and 3-6-1 in their last ten. The squad played last night in Houston and fell by a 3-0 decision. Jason Bacashihua took the loss....
