I am trying out for a jr hockey team in a couple days and am wondering what the coaches look for in a player. such as speed (a given) the passing, play reading, and most importantly the being involved in a play and scoring. Just overall things one needs to do to make a team and get noticed by the coaches.

All the above answers are correct, but keep in mind you either have the tools or you don't and at this point in time you can't do anything about it anyways.

Bobby - Matt's one of the 6 (top of the list - and only qualified by 9 days). I can think of others like Brandon Pirri, but he only played 1 NHL game this year so it's not an issue that his team (Chicago - the greatest team on earth) wouldn't release him.
