I need exact numbers for men's and women's hockey. Please provide a source too if you have exact numbers.
Google and wikipedia. Do your own homework. I'll get you started, Ted Nolan (coach of the Isles is native).
What are some inequalities in ice hockey? ex. - social class, gender, race, etc.
What class gets the most or least from the sport?
Are any positions in the game regulated by class considerations?
Is the audience participation oriented by any race, income, class, or gender consideration?
How about the managers, head coaches, and owners of the teams...is there any inequality present?
What does it cost to participate?
What does it pay on all levels of the sport?
Some other inequalities may include race, gender, age, income, education, class structure.
As in any sport, the equipment is expensive, but most schools have groups that will assist or help raise money for the players.
Even the community will kick in.
Most hockey players I know in Canada, started in their own back yards, then moved on to skating ponds, then skating rinks.
Since it was primarily a cold weather sport, most everyone has played hockey,............. even all us girls.
As far as aggression, I think football, boxing and basketball
are pretty aggressive. We like to think of it as being focused and "dedicated".
I am looking more toward the Central Hockey League, AHL,IHL here in the US or Switzerland, Slovak, Germany aboard? The NHL management style I do not like, especially Bettmans style. I heard he is considered the worst manager around in professional sports.
Well, based on your previous questions asked here at Yahoo Answers, I'm not sure any hockey league would want you.
Degrees in library sciences from Australian and Scottish Universities don't go too far in the hockey world. Similar thing with degrees in cardiology from South African Universities.
You should also keep in mind that the AHL is owned and operated by the National Hockey League and it's member teams.
Funny about the Bettman comment because most people consider Bud Selig to be far worse.
As for a serious answer. Most front office positions with NHL teams are held by people with MBAs, Law Degrees, and ex-NHL players.
Also, what would you sell? Based on your previous answers and responses, I don;t see you being a high calibre sales person!

According to my calendar it appears we are halfway through the NHL 2010-2011 regulation hockey season. For those who have not marked their own calendar yet might want to add a note for the NHL All Star Game slated for January 30th at 4:00 PM ET. Personally speaking it would be a shame if I could not watch a couple hockey games every season. Yes, it is true that I am a hockey fan and a movie fan. Go Anaheim Ducks! As a disclaimer it should be stated that I may not be an A-list fantasy hockey participant (my skills for remembering sports statistics are horrendous), but this flaw has not stopped me from enjoying the sport....
