I am going to buy some hockey tickets (Blues vs. Avalanche in St. Louis) from a guy off craigslist in a few hours. I have never bought hockey tickets before and I am afraid of being scammed or being sold fake tickets. How can you tell? What should I look for?

I have a hockey ticket to the Toronto Maple Leaf game, and my seat is section 111, row 16, seat 12. It doesn't say how much it costs on the ticket, because it's for the Leaf's exhebition home opener, and I believe Coca-Cola bought all the tickets for everyone. Does anybody know how much these tickets might cost?
I did a quick search on ticketmaster.com for the 2nd preseason game and your seat is the Gold seats which sell for $195 CAD.

I'm planning on buying my boyfriend hockey tickets to a game with his favourite team playing at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto. I can't afford to spend too much, so I was wondering what the best cheap seats are...it doesn't matter if you're not from Toronto or aren't familiar with the ACC, as long as you're familiar with some sort of large arena. Any suggestions would be very helpful!

The important thing to do is shop around. First check ticketmaster, but most of the time, the Maple Leafs sell out.
If ticketmaster doesn't have tickets, check craigslist, ebay and some of the secondary ticket market websites (I'll list them below).
I live in Boston and have had a lot of luck waiting until they day of the game and getting tickets for below face off of craigslist.

I'm trying to buy a pair of hockey tickets for a blackhawks game as a surprise present and the only things that are affordable are standing room only, but i really have no idea what i'm getting. where do we stand? what is the view like? is it worth the 60ish bucks? any information on this at all would be really appreciated!
standing room tickets are not the best tickets. At some point you will want to have a seat.
