How much does it cost to repair on average to repair Hockey Ice Skate Blades?
tripod

40$ would be cheap i have done it several times...

Tuck blade (one piece blade and plastic) 70$
If you blade unscrews like on grafs, ccm, or rbk.. you can get away a bit cheaper...but not that much

Are my hockey skate blades worn out?
Face Off

I play ice hockey, and I find that after every three or four ice sessions (each lasting anywhere from an hour to two hours), my skates become very, very dull without any edge.

I weigh 185lbs and I play left wing.

The skates are Easton Stealth S7 that I have had for about a season and a half.

I get them sharpened to 3/8', because I love that extra "grip" I get on the ice, it makes turning and accelerating out of corners so much easier.

Is it normal for skates to have to be sharpened every 3 or 4 ice sessions? Or is it just because they're wearing down and I need to get new blades?

Thanks

Thats normal. It sounds like you like a deep cut...obviously 3/8 is pretty deep. When your using a deeper cut like that they will become dull faster.

Personally I skate nearly 7 days a week on 3/4 and get probably two sharpenings a week, so its not uncommon to sharpen that often.

When sharpening that often you do need to be observant of how much steel you have left, and making sure that your getting proper sharpenings. A lot of places think they do a good job, but they are really giving you uneven edges and destroying your profile.
Just something to keep in mind.
