can i buy hockey shooting pads in the uk
?

CORRECTION: SKILLS PAD

Plexi glass is always best, you could try a sheet of melamine (basically a whiteboard) but it isn't as durable and will buckle when it gets wet. I am speaking from experience here, I got an 8x4 sheet of melamine this summer and now it is a piece of sh*t. Plexiglass is more like what actual shooting pads are made out of (the ones sold on like hockeyshot.com) and works just as well but if you make your own it will be a lot cheaper. Make sure to buy pledge for it too. The skillpad alone may seem slippery enough at the start, but applying pledge will help keep it clean, protect it from the pucks and the stick better because they will wear on the shooting pad, and once you have used it enough that is dirty and sticky because of puck marks, pledge will make it slippery again. I would stay away from wood, the puck won't slide very well on it and it is hard on the bottom of your stick and those are two problems skillpads are meant to solve.

This summer, My shooting in the garage was starting to annoy my dad because I was putting holes in his dry wall (you should ses my garage wall it is torn up) so we (me and my dad) went to home depot and bout about a half an inch thick sheet of wood and put it up on the wall and I spray painted a 4x6 (regulation net size) box on it and all 5 holes. That is what I shoot at, the only problem is that the pucks bounce off it a lot an either roll down the driveway (my neighbors across the street have about 20 of my pucks in their yard) or it will come flying at you sometimes (yes it does hurt to get hit even when they are coming off a rebound.) so that could be a minor setback. and now my dad is mad that I am tearing through the wood and hitting the drywall again (I like it becuase it means I have a good shot :-) or you could try making a net.

How can i improve my hockey shooting?

I have practised shooting off-ice (unfortunately I leave in England and cannot get a lot of ice time where i live), but when it comes to a game situation (i can only play in recreational matches, so don't get any training) and im through on goal, i go back to my old shooting technique which doesn't work at all. How can i get it so i use the proper technique and shoot better in a match?

The best and really only way is practice.
Here's what to do.
Get a piece of hard plastic sheeting to lay on the ground (this best resembles ice) then get a bucket of pucks and shoot 100 slapshots, 100 wrist shots and 50 backhands every day. It will become second nature and your shot will continue to improve.
A friend of mine played in the NHL and he shot 1000 pucks daily.

Anyone know what kind of material i can buy at home depot for a hockey shooting/stick handling board?

I know i can buy something like this online, but the hockey companies charge alot for something i know i can get at home depot. the only problem is i dont really know what type of material i should get. i was thinking maybe plexiglass or polycorbonate. can anyone help me out?

shooting and stick handling...
I can tell you what I have...
OK do you know about those computer plastic things for computer chairs, you can get one of those.. it has the spines on the bottom.
Buy one of those and get some kind of wax or you dint need to...
you could shoot in the back yard with tennis balls, or stick handle inside...
It really depends the area you live in.

Where can I find reasonably priced roller hockey flooring for shooting practice at home?

I am looking for a small section of the flooring used in roller hockey arenas so I can practice shooting. I can't find any sites that sell it.

I didn't find prices on the reference site but you should check out something like synthetic ice only for roller hockey.

I need to buy a hockey shooting pad, but the ones from hockey shot are too expensive?

I saw that someone makes them out of his garage and sells them. I'd like to buy one for my son, but need more info. I live in South Florida. Thanks!

One of my contacts in this section can make one for you and even ship it.

  • Thomas Vanek: TV star and shooting star! | Hab.ca - Montreal ...

The Sabres had won three straight heading into this Friday night game against Toronto. Just 3 goals in this contest as Toronto prevailed 2-1. Third star of the game for Toronto was Buffalo native Lee Stempniak. The teams met again New Year’s Day with Buffalo winning 4-1. It was even better February 4 (Stempniak’s 26th birthday) in Buffalo when Thomas Vanek scored a natural hat trick. It was also Vanek’s fourth consecutive natural hat trick, matching an NHL record set by Cy Denneny between 1923 and 1924 with the old Ottawa Senators.
