Hockey Rink

When ever basketball games are played in hockey season what do they do with the hockey ice!??? do they melt it and then put the basketball court down!!??? or do they put the court over the ice!!

The latter. They put the court on top of the ice. I've helped do this before.

I was woundering if anyone new of a really strong flood light. I make a hockey rink on the lake in my back yard. There is a tree on shore and if i could attach a strong flood light to it it might be able to light it up at night. Any suggestions? The rink is about the size on 1/2 a normal rink.

go to home depot and get some halogen lights, they are about $20. you might need two or three.

Can anybody please tell us the dimension of the glass? Do we know the name of the material of the glass around hockey rink? Thank you.

All NHL arenas use a plexi-glass that is custom made for NHL purposes. The company that makes it is based near St. Louis, Missouri and they had the existing contract for almost 40 years.

For my computer applications class, we are doing an online scavenger hunt and I need to know what the dimensions are for a full-size hockey rink.

The official size of the rink is 200 feet long and 85 feet wide. The corners are rounded in the arc of a circle having a radius of 28 feet.
