So my dad loves hockey and even more to referee it and he has a lot of patches (45) that he can't use anymore because they are from 2006 and earlier, as early as '93 and I want to make him something unique for x-mas. Any suggestions?
you already asked this question before... make sure you have approval to do anything with them. Chances are he has a personal connection to them and you making something out of the patches might upset him, just letting you know.. you probably shouldn't touch them.

i want to become an ice hockey referee
but i don't no where or when the classes are.
You have a few steps.
1) Register with USA Hockey as an official. The registration is separate from the player/coach registration.
2) Attend a seminar.
3) Take the open book exam.
You can register here...
http://www.usahockeyregistration.com/
You can find your local seminar schedule here...
http://www.usahockey.com//Template_Usaho ckey.aspx?NAV=OF_03&ID=20208
If you are close to a neighboring district or willing to travel, you can attend a USA Hockey seminar anywhere in the country. The Atlantic District has not yet announced the dates for their seminars but put up notice that the dates will be announced shortly. Most districts are at about the same point right now.
After you attend your seminar and complete your registration you will be sent a link to take your open book exam.
Once all three are complete, you will be sent your crest and you are good to work games.
Most districts offer late season seminars every March. If you attend a March seminar and register as a level 1 official, you will be able to register in September as a level 2 official.
I'm going to school to be a sports broadcaster. Hockey is my favourite sport and I have a job offer to do do color commentary for a junior league but I've never played. I know the sport through and through but I would like to be able to put something substantial on my resume because I'm the only girl that's been short-listed for the job and all the guys have played. I live in Edmonton CA if that makes a difference. Thanks!
Here is how you become an official in Canada.

Sorry I could not give you a more thorough answer but I am a USA Hockey official.
I am going to start this year so I would be lvl. 1. And I also live in Mt. Clemens Michigan if that matters.
about 10-15 a game. It could be more for tournaments.
I just got it and am refereeing a game tomorrow. any tips on how to put it on and where/which side it goes on?
I would recommend putting the patch on with Velcro, much easier than sewing it on. Go buy some Velcro at a craft store and put it on the shirt and the patch, then you can use it what way year after year, and the patch is easy to remove if you ever do non-USA games.
Put it on the upper left side of the shirt, where a breast patch would be.

Sharia in Sweden: Ice hockey referee suspended for Muhammad ...
UPDATE: Jihad Watch reader Tol has kindly sent in a correct translation, which now appears below.
Apparently it is now against the rules of the Swedish ice hockey league to draw pictures of Muhammad, the prophet of Islam. Sharia comes to Sweden: here is an English translation of "Hockeydomare stängs av efter karikatyr på Facebook," from SvD , January 2 (thanks to Christer):
Hockey Referee suspended after caricature on FacebookA Swedish ice hockey referee has been suspended after he published a cartoon of the Prophet Mohammed on Facebook. According to Aftonbladet, even SAPO (the Swedish Intelligence Agency) has been brought into the matter....
