How Can You Make Hockey Practice fun?

Hockey practice is in an hour and I have to come up with a fun thing to do that involves Hockey!

Some ideas are to play soccer on the ice, play tag (or capture the flag or some other playground game), switch sticks and have lefties play righty and vice versa.

Any type of competition can be fun. Have relay races. Divide the team in to groups and see who can be the first to make 20 passes. If you have those foam bumpers, lay them on the ice and see who can jump over the most bumpers.

Break-aways are fun, but you can make it sillier by having a rule that you have to use your craziest move, sort of like in the NHL all-star competition or the NBA slam-dunk contest.

Be creative. Anything you do on the ice is good practice. The more original the idea, the more fun it will be.

Is there a lot of running at field hockey practice?

I'm starting field hockey (maybe) and I'm going to the first practice in a few days (Monday). The captain told me to bring shoes -- 'cause the running won't be "too intense" but the coach likes you to be prepared.

What does "not too intense" mean? What do people normally do at field hockey practices?

You shouldn't run to much. You will run and it's a running sport but not to much. It's up to the coach and if he feels like running you. You might get hit around. The main thing you will do is work on the game plan and pass the ball. I hope this helps

What should I bring to hockey practice?

I have a 2 hour hockey practice tomorrow. We get a 10 minute break in between the hour mark so what should I bring? Should I bring a gatorade or is that just really bad for u or is it good with the electrolytes? Should I just drink water? Should I bring a protein bar or what to refuel me?

Bring Gatorade or water, it really doesn't matter that much, as long as you're hydrated at all times.

For a snack, bananas are great since they don't give cramps. Protein bars should do the trick as well.

Be sure to eat and drink enough before as well.

Recovering from an eating disorder. What should i eat before field hockey practice?

Okay so i've been recovering from an eating disorder and have already gained 5 pounds. But i'm still just under 80 lbs =( (5foot 1) I've been seeing a nutritionist too and after a little convincing that i'll be ok, shes letting me play field hockey. It starts tomorrow and practice will be for 3 hours. Shes given me some suggestions about what to eat but is there anything you reccomend i eat before or even after practice? Thanksss

Just eat fruits there very healthy
Good luck recovering from the ED. I am myself, and I've gained around 20 pounds.

  • Forsberg to practice with Avs | Hockey | Sports | Ottawa Sun

It seems Peter Forsberg's career always has been one step forward, two steps back.

Now, he's sticking a toe in the water again to see if he can return to the NHL.

Forsberg, who has a history of foot problems, will skate Saturday morning in Colorado with an eye to returning to the Avalanche.

"I need to see where I am physically, and practising with NHL players is the best way to find that out," Forsberg said in a statement released Friday by the Avs.

The 37-year-old hasn't played in the NHL since a truncated 2007-08 season.

He has played 706 games over 13 NHL seasons, collecting 249 goals, 636 assists and numerous injuries. He won two Stanley Cups and was voted the Hart Trophy in 2003.
