I am turning 14 on the 14th (Saturday)!! I am not having a party since I will be playing hockey. I am putting together little goodie bags for all the girls. So, any ideas on what to put in them?
Oh, this is a U19 girls team, so nothing too babish. (U19= under 19 girls team)
We have a few things, but the bags are kind of big, and I want them to be full. One, because it is my golden, but also because all of these girls are so kind to me.
So, any ideas are great!!!!
nail polish, flavored lip balm, lip gloss, finger nail decor, candy, cool colored pens, cute note paper, bubble bath, lotions. All these things can be purchased from a doller store. Happy birthday!

As soon as they get a leader who shows signs of integrity they want to boot him out. They are going to regret it if they shunt Turnbull in favour of Hockey or Abbott. (Who I USED TO respect, but now see as just another self-seeking ambitious polly) Hockey just looks like a thug. Do they want to destroy the Liberal Party, because that is looking increasingly likely?
I know what you mean. They really should of given Howard the boot and put Costello in charge.
I am turning 14, and i need some ideas for the favors. I need GOOD ideas. Some of my interests include horses and sports [volleyball and field hockey]. What have you previously used for bday party favors that people have liked?
Serious answers only please. Thanks.
they can get gifts that pertain to you...the party favors are for them...
candy is always good...
make-up...
stuff like that is always good...
the party is about you...so you could have something like a volleyball or field hockey tournament for a fun activity
Ok, so I'm planning a sort-of non-traditional baby shower
Not only is the shower co-ed, but the majority of guests are married with at least one toddler
I didn't want all of the guests to have to run out and find a baby-sitter, but I also didn't want the kids to be bored at the party
So I booked a private party at a large indoor play-ground (this should be fun for the parents and the tots, it's got a 24 foot slide, plus a few smaller slides, an adult size moon-bounce, a very kid-friendly obsticle course, swings, mazes, an air-hockey table, etc...)
Anyway, I made the invitations (just mailed them out today) and that means that I have until November 15th to figure out what to do for party favors.
We may need various types since we have adult men, adult women, and small children of both genders to consider.
The decorations for the party, and the mother-to-be's nursery plans all revolve around Winnie -the- Pooh. The gender of the baby is a surprise, so we can't do pink or blue of anything; instead we're looking at pastel green, yellow, and purple.
I've already decided to rule out a few things on the typical party favor list:
-no candles
-no soaps
-nothing with glass
(basically I want the favors to be kid-friendly should one of our younger guests get ahold of them)
I was thinking about candies of some sort, however I need ideas for how to dress them up.
So far I've looked at several different baby shower idea websites, the only ideas I've gotten that I think might be appreciated by the mother-to-be are baby-bottles full of candies and chocolate bars with a special label on them.
These however are ideas if we can't find something more creative, I'm pretty crafty so I could make something for each guest.
The only main concern is the the shower favors be unique and cost-effective (about $2-3 per favor, tops)
Any ideas? please, I'm at my wits-end trying to plan the perfect party and I need some help!
thank you
You can make edible pacifiers out of Lifesavers, and jelly bellies. You take two Lifesavers (wintergreen flavor is good for this. ) You "glue" them together with some canned frosting (buy Wilton's white if you can find it...look at Michael's if you have one there) "gluing" one to the other to form a base and a ring. (So a little frosting in the hole of one, then attach the other at the hole at a right angle) On the other side of the hole you push in a pink or blue jelly belly. Let sit to "dry". They are always a hit at the showers I have done.
for my 12th birthday I'm going to have a "splash bash". for the invitations I'll trace a piece of paper to look like a flip flop and string a ribbon where the flip flop thongs r then write the party details on the front. for food, ill put whipped cream on a sugar cookie and then arrange pineapple and mandarin oranges to look like a sun. also, ill put crushed graham crackers on top of pudding, put a cookie stick with green taffy on top to look like a palm tree. then cool-aid or something 4 drinks. for games, swimming of course, lifeguard says (Simon says in the pool), yard hockey with pool noodles and a beach ball, musical towels (musical chairs but with towels), and that thing where you have to pass a hula hoop through a line of people holding hands but with an inner tube. then 4 party favors I'll put shells, saltwater taffy and Hawaiian lei's in a sand pail. sorry this was so long but do u think this is fun? any suggestions?
That sounds like so much fun! I love putting a twist on traditional games :)
My only suggestions:
Keep your time line realistic. Set aside enough time to set things up before the party and realize that you might get so caught up in having fun that you don't get around to doing everything you have planned.
Also, you might consider a few not so sweet foods and drinks just in case someone isn't in the mood for it. And make sure you have enough cash for everything you want. - I started buying supplies for my daughter's party yesterday and several things cost more than expected.
Have a great time at your party! The invitations sound so cute :) ... I would love to see your palm tree. We are planning a Hawaiian party. I have been trying to figure out the best way to create a palm tree. And I hope you don't mind if we copy the flipflop invitation idea.
