I'm trying to figure out what to get my boyfriend for Christmas. His favourite name brand is Volcom I believe. But he hasn't said he's needed or wanted anything like that and has told me not to get him anything. So I figure I'd make him something. I'm in art school so I can paint, draw, and developing my skill with carving. I've been painting a picture of a P-51 in the clouds for my Dad (cause he was talking to me about how he was interested in things with the War), I'm also giving him some of my abstract paintings.
My boyfriend is training to be a pilot, so at first I thought it would give the painting to him, but I'm hesitant on that. I'd be more nervous to give it to him than my dad cause as far as I know, he knows a lot more about planes, since of course he flies them. He likes outdoorsy things (hunting, camping, fishing), as well as hockey. So I thought something in those areas but I'm still unsure.
Also, right now I have been carving some soapstone. I don't really know what to make out of it or who it will be for. Its rather flat, roughly the shape of a heart, and about the size of my hand. I've been thinking about carving that into an eagle...but I dunno.
Any ideas would be really awesome! :)

i wouldn't enjoy getting a present like that
but i like the painting idea- maybe even draw a picture of you and him? it would make him feel like you've spent so much time on him and make him feel special.
