i am looking for a good place to get hockey memorabilia that is authentic and proven authentic. I can not find a Signed Tavares Jersey for example anywheres
Disguise yourself as a puck bunny....
kidding, only kidding. eBay never fails. But in the event that it does, a "signed hockey jerseys" search on google might be useful.
Heres a good one:

I have a few hockey posters, hockey cards that I was wondering could I get signed by any of the detroit red wings. Is there any where I could ship them to have signed by a certain red wing player? I also have "The Office" poster...any info on gettin that signed?
You might not get them back so make sure they aren't too valuable if you decide to go that way otherwise you will just have to go to a Red Wings game and hang around outside the dressing room or entrance until you see the player you need the autograph of.
My passion is sticks. I have about 20 from Blues players, and 30 others from other teams and players. I also have about 1100 hockey cards. What do you collect?
Memorabilia = Junk or crap or garbage or stuff.
9000+ hockey pucks
4 seats form MLG -- my parents season seats.
Full set of boards and glass.
120 or so jerseys from AHL, NHL, and other minor leagues.
About 15 sticks from pre-WW2.
Those are the highlights... I have a 5 car garage with the loft full of tons of stuff collected by my parents over the years. Lots of crap I bought on eBay or shows. Rather embarrassing when I think about it.
My father gave me two hockey sticks and one pair of gloves when he worked for the St. Louis Blues. I would like to get these things certified as "official". Does anybody know how to do this or how much it would cost? Thanks!
There are several certified authenticators who could document your items. Keep in mind that even then it only gaurantees that the said item meets the criteria and is far more likely than not to be authentic. The only way to have 100% authentic "official" items is to have the proper documentation from the source...in this case a written certification from the Blues front office or the player who used the items in question. It is often expensive to get an independent certification but keep in mind the true value of these items to you should be that they were a gift from your father and his employment with the organization clearly is reason to know what you have is the real thing. If you have your collection insured you can pay an insurance certifed party to write an unofficial appraisal, they "quick check" items for consistency in known other items from the same player and the insurance accepts there evaluation and appaisal of insured value (that way is far cheaper but not official in any way).
I have a signed autograph from retired and former San Jose Sharks Goalie Arturs Irbe. What would something like that be worth by todays
standards?
look for a sports memorabilia store near you
granted they will most likely be mainly baseball
but it's a place to ask

2010-11 O-Pee-Chee Hockey Review
If you hate O-Pee-Chee Hockey, than you may as well hate Wayne Gretzky, Gordie Howe and Bobby Orr as well, as this is one of those products that even if you don't like, you have to respect. On the surface, OPC always seems like a boring, simple product, when in reality that's far from the case.
Each year I open a box of OPC hockey, yet I never remember how the parallel system works, which is why I enjoy it so much. Mystery is missing in too many of today's products. The most entertaining products are the ones that require a day or two of detective work. Opening a product should be like unlocking several clues to a much larger puzzle.
If you enjoy hockey cards and are looking for some cheap fun, 2010-11 O-Pee-Chee is definately worth looking into. Each hobby box carries a price tag of around $50.
