Whenever hockey players give interviews, why do they almost always wear baseball hats?

I guess this could be categorized as a "stupid question", but why do hockey players wear hats while giving interviews after games? Is it because they don't want anyone to see their sweaty hair? Hmmmm.... Thanks to those of you who answer!

Not a stupid question..Yeah its to hide their sweaty hair and usually the players hair is long so that keep the hair out of the eyes..also wearing a helmet all game, you get redness around your forehead...

Sidebit-If you notice,in the locker room after a baseball game,MLB players very rarely wear a baseball hat..

Why is it that rappers wear ice hockey hats now?

Ive noticed it in rap music videos. Like fat joe was just wearing one in the song that i think is called i make it rain, and im not sure of the other song but there was another rapper wearing a boston bruins hat too. Not to be racist or anything, but usually i thought rappers would wear like baseball or basketball hats since usually those are the sports they into. Oh and with snoop dog in the song gin and juice, hes got a pittsburgh penguins jersey on.

Why do hockey fans throw their hats on a player's 3rd goal?

Why do hockey fans throw their hats on a player's 3rd goal? How did it start? Is it their own person al hats and if it is do they get their hats back after? Or do they get free hats when they go to the game?

It's a sign of respect fans have shown to the players since decades. Scoring one goal is tough and when you get a second one in the same game, you're already well passed the standards. When a third goal is scored, throwing your hat is the exaggeration of lifting it to the player who has made an astonishing performance.

People throw their own hats and the management of them will depend on the Arena.

where could i find any kind of flat brim hockey team hats?

any team it does not matter because i cannot find any teams that have flat brim or new era hats. please help me

Any local Hockey stores should have them.

What happens to the hats that get thrown on the ice after a hat-trick at an NHL hockey game?

Do they throw them out, or donate them to charity, or is there a little hat booth at the arena where people can re-collect their own hats after the game? I have always wondered this...

In Ottawa you get your hats back after the game if you go claim them, what is left is also donated to charity!!

  • Hockey's Hat Trick Has Mysterious Origins, Remains Most Classic ...

Toronto, 1940s: Chicago Black Hawks forward Alex Kaleta was searching for a hat in Toronto in 1946 and approached local businessman, Sammy Taft . Kaleta didn't have enough money to purchase one so Taft made a deal: If Kaleta scored three goals against the Toronto Maple Leafs that night, he would give him a free hat. Sure enough, Kaleta scored four goals against the Leafs, and Taft gave him the headgear.
