Right now I am planning on buying new goalie pads for hockey. Right now I have Nike Bauer 175 SE, I will need new ones soon so I need an idea on what i should get. My pad sixe is 33 inches and I will need 34 inches so please give me ideas and maybe a picture to go along with it.
Thanks for all your help.
first and foremost, do not buy reebok. reebok is popular but cheap and low-grade. the pads break down very vast and the rebound control is nothing short of horrendous. the flat face causes the puck to rocket back off of them and give the shooter a nice juicy rebound every time. the vaughn velocity v3 7500 and 7700 lines are both very good. not only do they last longer but they are much softer so they cushion your legs much better when you butterfly and their rebounds are much shorter and a whole lot easier to control. the knee break and rollers also make the pad a lot more flexible so it fits better to your legs and it can get tighter 5-hole coverage. tps summit 7s are also good pads but their flatness (like the rbk's) isnt great and they also have much firmer padding than the vaughn so the rebound control isnt quite as good. that said however theyre still a considerable step up from the rbks

What should I get for my birthday an Xbox 360 or Ball hockey Goalie pads?
My only piece of advice is to do what is more fun for you. When you're lying in bed tonight, think about what you would rather be doing; sitting in front of the television playing video games or feeling the rush of adrenaline from making a save that wins your team a game. For anybody reading this they would probably say the goalie pads, but there are many people that would enjoy playing the 360 a lot more. Really, the choice is yours.
P.S. If money is an issue for you/your family, ask for the Goalie Pads. I play ice hockey not ball hockey, but I'm assuming that the pads are less than $400.00. The saving of the money will allow your family to 'stay above water', and the satisfaction you will feel will be like a present all in itself.

What ice hockey goalie pads should i get?
i'm a butterfly goalie and my pads are too small so im always leaving my 5 hole open. i need new pads, i was thinking rbk premier 3's 9k, vaughns v3 (how much are those, v3's), or nike bauers one 75, the new x60's, or just anything u guys recommened. all help is appreciated thx
Actually, just depends what you prefer in a pad. Most goalies, like myself, are picky in choosing their gear. It all depends what you feel comfortable in... Don't let someone choose for you, as most goalies tell you its more of a comfort fit on what you like, not what others think is good....
1.) Some suggestions, is to try on(if possible) at the nearest hockey store.
2.) If no hockey store is around, always make sure when you buy something new online, make sure their return policy is at least 30 days & a customer friendly policy. Such as if you don't like the pads, there is a no hassle return policy. This way it gives you a chance to try on the pads, if you don't like it - then return it. But, remember you have to pay for return S&H charges, if the item is returned.
3.) Another suggestion is go to your local hockey rink. If you see a pair of pads on another goalie that you like, ask them if you can try them on as your thinking about buying a pair. Some goalies may say no, but most goalies realize that they were in the same situation on buying new gear.
4.) Finally, don't be afraid to ask the hockey stores or online if they 'PRICE MATCH'. So, many goalies miss out on great deals and deal savers..... Just imagine it as having more money to spent on more or better gear. Always check & compare prices and ask about price matching....

I want to make some street hockey goalie pads because they cost a lot of money (to me, $60+ is a lot of money).
what's with the weird answers lol i'm being serious with this question
nobs you should add more because that doesn't make sense to me
Matt S i like your answer so far but what about the chest protector leg pads etc.?
dont listen to these yoohos.
First get some regular hockey shin pads,,then get a big thing of styraphome. measure ur leg to see how big it is and make the pads 11 or 12 inches wide. then cut section out of the styrfoam for the shin guards. then tape the styrafoam vey tghtlly with duct tape. place the bottom of the shin guard at the bottom of the styrafoam. this shin guard is acting as your leg channel and knee lock.tape the top of the pad over the knee lock again for extra support and protection...then you can make your own straps out of cheap material or watever......the cool ting about making ur own pads is u can spray paoont them after!
My idea was kind of wierd but id say its the best
I'm thinking of selling my goalie pads and wondering how much they are worth...
They are Itech Prodigy 9.8s i have the leg pads and blocker but not the catch glove. They are used and marked up from getting hit from pucks but other than that there is no wear/rips/broken straps on them.
If someone could give me a price range that would be nice, thanks.
Well im not a big Itech fan besides their masks which are now bauer. i googled them cause i wasnt sure exactly which ones they were and two pads came up.
If they are the ones: http://www.choicehockey.com/goaliemonkey .com/index/index040506/itech-glgp98srd.g if
Then id say prolly no more than $300. Thats if they are like 32" up
and if they are these: http://us.st12.yimg.com/us.st.yimg.com/I /bbhockey_2042_21560247
Then id say $100 at most.
The prodigy pads were def second best to the x-wing.
goodluck selling them
