What's the difference between Intermediate and Senior size hockey goalie gloves and blockers?
15/365

I bought CCM Blockade pads that are senior size 34" and im looking into buying the matching glove and blocker because I have some Itech X-Wing 4.8 gloves and all I can find for the Blockade gloves are jr. and intermediate.

If you play hockey at a serious level i would not think of anything else but if your playing for fun you could probably get off using intermediate as they would save you quite a bit of money as well. If your playing with hard shots don't go with anything other than the senior as that has the most protection.

By the way i have senior sized blockade gloves and they are by far the best i have used , very light and durable, for sure worth finding.

How do you flex hockey goalie catcher gloves?

I have RBK premier 2 series goalie catcher gloves. I've had them for about 7 months and use them about 3-4 times a week, but they are still not that flexible.

Goalies

Breaking in goal equipment can be a real hassle. Not only do we have to get used to the feel of new pads or a new glove, but we also have to get used to the feel of the puck in new equipment. However, new equipment is something every goalie must get used to, as the need to stay well protected is a must.

Breaking in a new glove is easier today than it ever has been, but here are some tips for getting a better feel for it.

---Play catch. Sometimes practice alone will not be enough to break in a new glove, so try grabbing a baseball and hitting the backyard for a round of catch.
--Place a stack of pucks, or a softball, in the web of your glove. Close the glove around them and tape your glove shut (or use elastic bands around it). Try doing this over a number of nights.
--Watch TV? Wear your glove while you watch TV, and during the commercial break, open and close it for the duration of one commercial. This will not only help you work in your glove, but it will give you a great forearm workout.

Found this on one site! Dont know if it helps.

has anyone used FIELD hockey goalie gloves?
Hall of Fame Memorabilia: Billy Smith

Hi. I'm a field hockey goalie and I was looking at getting a new set of OBO goalie hand protectors (the normal foam ones) because mine are old and smell awful no matter what I do.

Anyway as I was looking online I noticed that grey's sells field hockey goalie gloves. I have never seen a field hockey goalie use gloves and I was wondering if anyone else has or has used them yourself... what do you think???

Thanks : )

In the "old" days, goalies played with leather gloves. In the 80's early 90's they switched to ice-hockey gloves and even then they reinforced them with carpet and foam from toe-slippers. And now they are playing with all foam. The gloves from Grays are either for the youngest youth or the old guard.
I would not recommend them.

Street Hockey Goalie Gloves?
Goalie, Woetmannn

I am playing street hockey, and i need some new gloves espicially, i need leg pads to but not as much as gloves....I need a blocker and a catching glove, some good ones but not to expensive....I am a Left side Blocker and a Right catcher, which is not the norm.....Anyone know where to get them?
Aborted- Really? asshat huh? i use an american brand called go_back_to_your_foxhole....but they are starting to tear... ;)

Franklin makes some pretty good street/roller hockey gear for full right goalies .. it was the 3300 / 3400 series (one model number for the blocker and one for the glove, and I don't remember which was which) but that combo WAS available in full right. The protection on the face of the blocker is actually pretty good, ditto the thumb, but the palm wears out quickly, so be sure to use white tape. Padding on the glove is marginal but for a street hockey ball or puck, it's adequate. CCM and Koho came out with roller hockey gear a couple years ago if you want to go with a more reputable company. Tour's roller hockey gear is more for kids and ball hockey, I wouldn't trust it for use with a (hard) street hockey puck. Then again, I primarily play ice these days and therefore have gotten to used to gear that gives me peace of mind, mostly from Vaughn and Brian's, anyways the Franklin gear also has Bio Fresh concept which can keep them from reeking (smelling) too badly. It's kinda like the Under Armour of protective equipment. Oh and if you buy ANY used gear, make sure it fits, that there aren't any holes you can't repair or get fixed at a cost which is still within your budget (why pay $100 for a used glove if it costs you $20 to repair it, when you can get a suitable glove for $129?), ice hockey goalie gear has much more protection, but do you really need it? It can get a tad hot even in street gear. Oh and welcome to the crease!

How can I protect my hand better in an old ice hockey goalie glove?
Game winning flash

It is a pretty old glove, and I'm pretty sure If I took a hard slap shot in the mitt my hand would probably be broken. Also, wearing winter gloves under it wouldnt help. (i've tried). Also, I really would hate to have to buy a new glove.

open the stichting and add more padding. You can get a kit for re lacing a baseball glove at a sports store. You can re lace the web too and maybe make it a little bigger/stronger.
Cut some foam or a gel shoe insert even sponge and put it in the palm for extra strenth. Then lace it back up.

wow $200 i got my glove made for me in about 95' for about $450!!!!!
