Would any of you hockey fans happen to know the name of an old comic book that featured cartoons of a goofy hockey player? It featured gags such as the player eating hot dogs in the penalty box.

Can't say that I remember that but I believe the USA Hockey magazine maintains the tradition.

The story is in Swedish, but any online translation service will allow you to read this ridiculous story. Just how PC is TOO PC? How far should we bend over backwards to avoid offending ever-offended Moslems?
think: I agree to a point, but at the same time, isn't the whole PC manure going a bit too far? He's paid to know and enforce the rules of ice hockey, not assuage the easily-dented psyches of Moslems.

Would you feel the same way if he had posted a Darwin fish, which is clearly a swipe at Christianity, considering the fish symbol was appropriated by atheists particularly because of its association with Christianity?

No, I don't think he should.

Muslims need to get thicker skins and people need to quit caring about it. I don't hear about any muslims worried about offending us or anyone else when they stand on the street and burn our flag and chant death to our country or attack christians in their church.

After exhausting just about all possibilities for subject matter, here's a cool question to not only beat the heat, but to bide time until training camp opens up...soon. Hockey fans, out of all the books, cartoons, movies, poems, music videos, etc., who is your favorite fictional hockey player (or coach for that matter)?

May I throw out the "legendary" Eddie LeBec from "Cheers"? Jay Thomas played the Boston Bruins goalie who passed on sipping from Lord Stanley's cup (and helping Ray Bourque earn a ring sooner) to...join a travelling ice show. Too bad Mr. LeBec met an untimely demise.

How about that bad old bearded goon 'Racki' from Youngblood? The one that Rob Lowe's babyfaced character had to fight at the end of the movie. Ol' Racki starts out at him with the 'I'll gouge your eye out' stick thing, until Lowe knocks his stick out of his hands.

Patrick Swayze actually held his own as a 'real' hockey player (Derek Sutton) in that movie & Lowe didn't suck in his part as 'Youngblood' as well.

Not to mention that young Cynthia Gibb looked like she was worth fighting for as well...

Former Blackhawk Eric Nesterenko played his dad. ENest was a smalling willing winger in his day, but lost a TON of NHL fights, so it was funny that he was the guy to toughen up ol' Younglood!

For history class I have to do a political cartoon and an editorial, I had no ideas of what I could do so my teacher said I could do how hockey has influenced Canadian culture, I wanted to know some ideas I could do for a political cartoon
pretty sure the editorial has to be about the political cartoon, so how would i make one about the idea of "canadas weapon of mass destruction"
