So I wanted to know if there were any scumbag agents in hockey like there are in baseball and football. You know the 2 agents I am talking about. Scott Boras, the worst of the 2, and Drew Rosenhaus. Thanks.
probably but there isnt very much room to be a scumbag in hockey
look at the way revenue breaks down
Baseball = no Salary Cap
Football = approx. 108 MIL Salary Cap
Hockey = approx 48 MIL Salary Cap
its hard to really holdout for a big contract when most teams cant afford to spend more than about 3 MIL for a really talents player

I have contacted the teams for the players and they will not tell me the agents name or fone number. Is there a public list somewhere that I can find this information?
The NHLPA has a list of all certified agents on their website. Here's the link.

Just interested in seeing if anyone knows who they might be? Want to become an agent myself and want to look up people in my favorite sport to see what they have done to get where they are.
Go to Law School recognized by the NHLPA, and then contact the NHLPA to be certified. Most agents are lawyers. That would be the easiest way to complete the educational background required.
The NHLPA makes available the names of the agents on their website, but confidentiality laws in both Canada and North America do not permit them to make their client lists public. You are free to contact any agent on the list although I cannot guarantee any will talk to you.

i heard that the Blues wanted to get a talented free agent this summer? who are the good free agents and who might the Blues ponder?
Poll: Predict the 2 stanley cup teams, and the winner.
Kesler, Gonchar, Paul Kariya and Kovalchuck are all FA's this summer if their teams don't re-sign them. In the goalie department, Tomas Vokoun is an RFA and Marty Turco won't get re-signed, Evgeni Nabokov is a UFA although he'll get re-signed depending on how the Sharks do during the post season. On that note Patrick Marleau and Devin Settoguchi are both FA's but again they'll be re-signed if the Sharks do well in the post season.
I am aware of the NCAA regulations, however kids get drafted when they are 18 then go to school, then leave and play pro and get paid? I know that agents recruit potential clients when they are 16 or, but I am curious on how it all works. Are they "sports advisors" until their clients turn pro? or what?
College Hockey players can not have agents, are not allowed to correspond with agents. Any negotiation with professional clubs is to be handled by player and/or their parents (see James van Riemsdyk for further explanation of the process).
Prior to accepting a scholarship offer at NCAA D1 school, a player can talk with an agent about his options, but he is not permitted to hire the agent (sign a binding agreement), nor is he permitted to promise to hire the agent once he graduates/leaves college.
Once a player signs a scholarship offer, he is not permitted to have any contact with an agent.
Now, agents are fully aware of this, and abide by the rules, and they are all aware of when scholarship deadline dates are. So, they know when they can talk to a kid and when they can't. For a player who is sure he's going the college route, he'll have talked to several agents before he signs his scholarship deal, so he'll have a good idea which agent he wants representing him when he graduates/leaves school.
In December 2007, the University of Minnesota Golden Gophers sent out a letter (as per NCAA rules) stating that Kyle Okposo was no longer eligible to continue playing hockey at the school. The belief at the time was that Okposo was no longer academically eligible to play. The University of Minnesota (Coach Dan Lucia) has since stated that the Islanders engaged in immoral activity by having an agent contact Okposo, thus ending his career. Something Okposo denies, and the Islanders will only say that Lucia was not living up to their expectations for developing the player.
But this is a case where contact between a player and an agent ended an NCAA career.

Year of official operations; however, the concept has been baking in my oven of a mind for over 10 years.
In order to grasp the VSM concept, one must understand where I came from and where my ideas originated. I was born in Quebec City, Canada. My father is half British and half Indian (no he is not a Hindu; our family is from Bengal and Orissa and they gave up on religions centuries ago). My mother is French Canadian. At the age of 2, we moved to Los Angeles California because my parents were working there. My mom split her time between theatre acting and waitressing. My dad was a professional musician, mostly a pianist among blues bands. Curious enough, my maternal language is French but my first spoken language is English. I am what some may call “more than perfectly bilingual”; I can switch from one language to another instantly and I do not have a foreign accent in either language.
