I really want to go there but its too far from my place. I live 50 mins away from Toronto (by car) so that's more convenient for me but I do not want to watch the Toronto Maple Leafs unless they face the Habs, of course.
and how much is a front seat ticket?
I make an annual trip to Montreal when the Leafs are in town (my dad used to do it with me but he can't travel anymore so I started going with a friend from grade 5)...we either drive or take a train up, and make a weekend out of it.
You're looking at going through ticket touts and similar venues for tickets but they can be had; I paid $350 for a pair of lower bowl seats 15 rows up (parallel to the end of the Leafs' bench) to the last game of the season this year (Phaneuf scored in OT) through a source who I know has legit tickets.
Usually a good weekend, seeing the Leafs win makes it that much better (and there were a TON of Leafs fans which kinda shocked me given MTL was playing to get in the playoffs and the Leafs were playing out the string, but I'd say at least 10% of the crowd were Leafs fans).
Victoria - If the Vancouver Canucks bowed out of the NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs, would you pull for Montreal Canadiens? Most hockey fans in Victoria ...
because if the caps lose this series then the media will lose half of the recent surge of banwagon fans. thats too risky for the nhls profit... thats why they were reviewing that one goal for so long.
Seriously, I told Jude in his "why am I not a top contributor yet" question that he would need Lots of Best answers too. So the new guy point-games, using a dope account to give himself BA. then he starts asking questions.
so do you think this is the same guy? Or am I just being paranoid?
I think Jude has "Multiple Personality Disorder"...yes!
Who might he be today...?
It's on link below, when you get on site, click on first link that says Canadiens-Pens.
This is my second year living in Montreal and I never found out why.
The term 'habs' originates from the french 'les habitants' or citizens in english. When the team was formed, it was predominantly french-canadian and was a form of representation for the french in Canada and the Americas.
Many people believe that the 'H' in the middle of the 'C' in the logo is for Habs, but in fact, it is for 'Hockey' as in Club d'Hockey Canadiens, or Canadiens Hockey Club.

Flames/Habs alumni tilt in works | Hockey | Sports | Winnipeg Sun
It's not the NHL all-star fantasy draft, but word has it Jim Peplinski and Brian Skrudland have been recruiting former teammates for an alumni game for next month's Heritage Classic.
Peplinski was part of the 1989 Stanley Cup-winning squad in Calgary, where the Flames will battle the Montreal Canadiens outdoors at McMahon Stadium.
The Flames haven't made anything official, but confirmed yesterday an alumni game is something they've been discussing.
"All I can say for certain is the entire team has been put on alert, Bob Johnson's training manual has been pulled out and all are stretching using Pierre Page's 3S stretching method," Peplinski said in a text Monday night. "Still lots of work to do."
