I have a Gryphon field hockey stick and I was wondering how you tape it so it reduces the bounce. For example, when I go to stop the ball it has a big rebound or bounces off of the stick and I don't know if taping it up will reduce that or not. I know girls on my high school team said it works, but I want to get other opinions. Thanks! =)
I don't know how to describe it, but you just wrap it around at an angle. If I were you, I wouldn't do it on the toe, because it'll absorb your hits as well. The only reason you should tape it there is if it's chipped and could "potentially hurt someone."

I bought a brand new Gryphon Blue Steel field hockey stick (its composite) and it has a slight rattle when I turn it upside down? HELP!!! should I send it back?
The jiggernut is loose on it. Take it to a sports store and they will tighten it for you. They usually do this free of charge.
I've been playing field hockey for 3 years, this being my third season, and I've been growing taller, so I want to buy a new stick.
What brand + type of stick would be the best for me?
've been told to look into TK, Voodoo, Gryphon, Dita, and etc.. But I'm not sure what to look for in the stick. No stx or brine please. :)
The most successful defense players I know have used and loved Grays or Danaher because they're very durable, and defensive players need a heavier stick so that their stick stays low and has a lot of power behind their drives. TK's are great and I have a dita and absolutely love it. Look at your price range and see what you like. if you're a stroker, i'd go for a dita or TK because the bends in those sticks are great for an awesome flick

i can't decide which field hockey stick to buy. i'm deciding between adidas, gryphon, and dita. i really like the look of the new adidas sticks but i know that isn't all that matters. I play forward and i'm really quick and i want a powerfull stick but i can't spend more than 200 dollars. please help! ( please include a website i can order from.)
Dita is your best bet. Although the Adidas sticks look really sharp you'd be better off with a Dita on the forward line. http://fieldhockey.net/
I have been playing hockey for about 2 months now, and i have been borrowing my friends stick, a gryphon slasher made of fibreglass with a maxi head i think.
i am not sure what position i prefer playing, being new to the sport, but i would like good ball control and power.
What head type would be best for me? and which stick do you recommend?
i would suggest that you get a heavier head because it gives more hitting power. but on the other hand it might be a bit heavy and a tad hard to control for beginners. A lighter head is easier to control the ball. so either you could get a stick with a heavy head and work on your stick skills with drills or you can just find a happy medium. :)

Gryphons play at home for first time since 1998

In over a decade, the Gryphons Girls Field Hockey team has not had the opportunity to play on home field. Travelling as far as British Columbia to the West and Germany to the East, the girls have competed on their fair share of fields, seen thousands of foreign fans, and driven many miles to get to their game destinations that are ultimately, somewhere else.
Although, on the surface it appears as though playing on a different field does not have much impact on the team’s performance, considering their high national ranking, goalkeeper Dorothy Marcy and forward Brienne Stairs, two fourth-year players, disagree. Training camp in the Deutschland, for example, exposed the girls to a completely different game.
