Golden Gopher Hockey

I've checked the large websites such as hockeymonkey and hockeygiant. I need the socks on the player on the far left of this picture.

I wasn't able to find the exact socks but I found some similar including a site that will do custom socks.

I love the Gophers men's hockey team and despise the New York Yankees baseball club and my friend called me a hypocrite and said the gophers were the Yankees of college hockey. I don't think that is right. It seems to me that the Yankees buy their teams and are truly evil.

Fair comparison or not?

Yay! Another college hockey fan! That's not exactly the best comparison.... at least not for college hockey in general. In the WCHA specifically maybe. Although WCHA championships seem to be almost equally divided b/w Denver and the Gophers.

The Gophers have a successful hockey history and most players usually hail right from Minnesota (Not Vanek though! :P) I think it's fair to say that because of its history and reputation most talent from Minnesota choose play for the Gophers and the rest of the Minnesotan schools get the leftovers, so they usually stink. So, if you and your friend are from Minnesota, I can see why you might compare the Gophers to the Yankees... even if it is still a little ridiculous.

Just so you know... I like the Gophers too. :) Not as much as my Spartans though. I have the 05'-06' and 06'-07' Gopher team posters above my desk in my room. It's a shame about Ryan Stoa this year though, eh?

Sometimes, in minor televised sports games, sometimes high school games, they show the logo on the middle or court or field upside down. Even in televised Minnesota Golden Gophers hockey home games, the logo looks more like a W than an M. Why?

the logo faces the crowd it doesnt go wherever the camera wants it too.

I personally think that the Gophers are going to win tonight's game... but then again I've never seen North Dakota play, who do you think is going to win and why?

deffinetly gophers. theylll come out strong and keep the pressure on! I think their defense will be amazing tonight too and watch for the tempers to start to flare!!! It should be awsome!

Where can I find it when it does?...also if you know when hockey season tickets go on sale that is also useful to me.

Some schools already have their schedules out. If it's not out yet for your team, your coach must be launching a last minute campaign to talk some Division II sucker into coming to your town to play the Gophers.
