East West Hockey

...and why?

I just moved from San Jose to Boston, and it's different both in terms of spectating and being on the ice.

Watching, these teams are more old school. Although many of the teams are changing to match the new NHL style of play, there's still very much a feel of the slower, heavier-contact hockey out here. There's a sense of legacy that I think you just don't find on the opposite coast, too. A different attitude, not that the west coast doesn't love and respect the game, but out here hockey's everything, and I think you feel that with the teams and the fans.

Playing, there's a huge difference because there's that legacy issue playing also. I was used to being pretty good compared to women I played with, but out here? Girls I play with have played since they were itty bitty kids. They play high school and college hockey.

The overall level of play is higher, and people take it very, very seriously. I've had to really step up my own play, and feel a fair amount of pressure that I didn't used to back in SJ. On the other hand, with higher stakes comes greater payoff. It's way more of a charge and a challenge playing out here.

Chippewa secondary school's east west routine. we came i think 2nd but we deserved 1st no doubt tell me what you think!!!

They woke up and throttled my Kitchener Rangers in 4 straight after being down 3-0,and hammered the Barrie Colts in 4 straight.Don't follow the Q or the western league,but is there any team from those two that can take the Spits down?

The New Brunswick teams are solid....Moncton probably gets through and they are strong and well coached by Danny Flynn. Still can't see them handling that Windsor squad though.
