Strengths of the Blackhawks:
Penalty Kill
Defense
Puck Possession
The Forwards
I've watched the hawks all year long, and their biggest strength is their puck possession. At the end of the game Chicago usually out-shoots their opponents by nearly 10 shots.
There defense at the beginning of the year was just amazing, allowing less than 20 shots on net frequently. Their penelty kill is also one of the best in the game, I think ranking 6th in the NHL this year, and so far in the playoffs their penalty kill is 10/10. Also their forwards, Kane, Hossa, Toews, Sharp and Versteeg. When these guys are playing well, no ones stopping them.
As for the weaknesses:
Goaltending
Power Play
The "physical" Game
The Hawks goaltending has been shakey all year. Huet has been a complete disaster, And I'm a fan of Niemi, but realistically he's still a rookie and never faces a lot of shots. But it just goes to show, with a top goalie this team is unstoppable. Another let down this year has to be the powerplay, ranking in the middle of the league, their powerplay doesn't generate enough scoring chances and they have trouble entering the zone. Another thing they lack is the "tough" guy. Byfuglien, Brouwer, Burish and Eager all fit this role, but aren't to intimidating. Dont get me wrong they have a lot of guys who can hit and fight, but no one really stands out above the rest.

Im hoping the rest of the series, my boys bring it and come back from down 2-1

The player was a goalie.

Patrick Lalime played this season for the Chicago Blackhawks and wore the number 40.

There is a tradition at Chicago Blackhawks hockey games whereby all the fans cheer and scream for the entire duration of the National Anthem. Does anyone know how this tradition began?
