I know it's always important to win gold in Olympic hockey, but it's especially important considering the Olympics are on their home ice.
What will it mean for Canadian hockey (and Canada in general) if the Canadians do end up winning the gold?
What will it mean if they don't?
In my opinion, it is crucial. After the 2006 debacle, we need to show up big on our home ice. I've been watching these things on Sportsnet about hockey teams preparing for the Olympics, and like they have said, "Canadians will not settle for anything less than gold due to the failure in Turino(sp?), and that it's on home ice."
I will be incredibly disappointed if they don't, and I know that a tonne of other Canadians will be too.

CANADIANS ARE WAY BETTER THAN AMERICANS IN HOCKEY
In 1998 I met someone named "Christian" who was Canadian and had played professional hockey. I know he gave private lessons in 1998 - 2000. I am wondering what his full name is, and the team he played for.
hey there are a numberous amount of players with the first name Christian. These are all the current players with the first name christian: Christian Backman that plays for St. Louis, Christian Berglund that plays for Florida, Christian Chartier that plays for Florida, Christian Ehrhoff that plays for San Jose, Christian Hanson that plays for San Jose, Christian Jensen that plays for San Jose, Christian Laflamme that plays for San Jose, Christian Larrivee also with San Jose, Christian Matte with San Jose, and Christian Soderstrom that plays for Detroit. I hope this was helpful.
What, to you, is the single most important moment in the history of Canadian Hockey?
Simple really, the answer can be in regards to any level or type of competition, be it International, Professional, Junior or Amateur.
It can be a Goal, a Game a Save, a Story or Triumph. It can be anything, I just want to know what it is to you. I want to know why it's important to you, and moreover why it is important to Canada.
Please don't say the victory of Canada over USSR. The slashing onto Kharlamov's ankle is one more reason to be ashamed of being a canadian.
-Gretzky's 50th goal in his 35th game
-Lemieux's gold medal at Salt Lake.
-Senator J.Demers' cup with Montreal as the head coach; it was the last time it had visited the Canada for a canadian team.
-(Maurice Richard) Rocket's 500th career goal.
-Patrick Roy's performance in the play-offs. One year he won like 10 games out of 11 in over time.
-Raymond Bourque's 400th goal.
There are many great career records and international events, but the only time I really supported the Canadian National Hockey Team was at Salt Lake City. I can say I really enjoyed to see them in front of the USA in their own back yard. LOL.
