Does anyone know the chances of my little neighbor making it on Boston College's men's hockey team?
Capturing the Flex

I was talking to my little neighbor tonight, and he said that he really wants to play hockey for Boston College. He's a great kid; he has a 4.3 GPA, he's so hard-working, and he's a pretty talented hockey player. However, his stats aren't really showing it; he only has 3 points so far, and he's played in 21 games! He's a defenseman, but I still think that he should be doing a little bit better. He's only a sophomore in high school so he definitely has some time to improve, but I'm still worried for him. Do you think that if he improves some more during the season and keeps hustling on the ice, he'll have a chance at playing for BC?
hockeyfan14: Au contraire, Pierre. You can get higher than a 4.3 if you're in an honors or A.P. course in high school.
thelau: I go to Pitt, not an Ivy League school. I said that I was ACCEPTED by an Ivy League school. If you want to mock me, mock me correctly.

LITY: Boston College's mascot is an eagle, not a terrier, sweetheart. You're thinking of Boston University. And I'm not quite sure why he wants to go to Boston College. I think that he just really likes their hockey program. He does like a few other schools, like the University of Michigan, but he really loves BC.
LITY: I know that, but I'm not entirely sure that he does. Boston College is closer to home (Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania) than the University of Michigan, and I think that that's what attracted him to it. Then again, BU isn't exactly in Michigan either but he's never once mentioned that school. Personally, I would go to BU if I was him but to each his own.

at his level of play, college scouts don't care about points. it is the number of scoring opportunities shut down. he will have stopped minimum of 30 opportunities. yes he will be watched. points are not a major asset. for D more shut downs. better player.

Boston University NCAA Mens Division 1 National champions

4.3 GPA (out of about 4.8 or 5)----This is on the border of the top 10 percent
SAT score in the 1900s
Participate in 3 Clubs
Play ice hockey for the school

Please be honest and helpful. I am only a junior but I am trying to gauge where I am at.

In all likelihood you will get in. You should also apply to Holy Cross which is identical to BC except is SAT optional. Along with Georgetown, they are the top 3 Jesuit colleges in the USA. HC is the oldest and most prestigious Catholic college in New England and Georgetown is the oldest most prestigious Catholic college in the nation.

Is there any college or university soccer that we can watch in Boston (MA) in the first two weeks of April?
IMG_4125

Have baseball and ice hockey tickets organised now just need to see a soccer match. Am happy to drive for a couple of hours any direction from Boston to see a good game at any level - I am talking about Boston (USA) and not UK as already been to that ground seeing my team Luton beaten 4-3 a few years ago

No college soccer, they play in the fall in the US. Major League Soccer does start up in April and the New England Revolution play in Foxborough which is only a 30 minute or so drive out of Boston. Their only home game in April is Aprill 11.

Will the NHL establish another outdoor game?
IMG_4095

I heard that the Buffalo Sabres will take on the Pittsburgh Penguins on January 1, 2008 in Buffalo Bills' Ralph Wilson Stadium. I had check on the wikepeida that two former Michigan State players who on Sabres and Penguins teams. They are teammates for Michigan State when played against their rivalry, Michigan.

Forget about that game on January 1, 2008.

The College Hockey and NHL want to establish another outdoor game that may increase the nation's greatest rivalry series.

Some examples from "Cold War (ice hockey)" that have some plans to playing in an outdoor games as Boston, Boston College, Michigan, and Michigan State at Fenway Park. The Michigan State and Michigan are seen to have rematch in the outdoor game at Michigan Stadium. The Rangers and Islanders would playing at the Yankees stadium someday.

I heard that Gary Bettman is actually planning an outdoor game in Costa Rica. The game will be part of his "expand the NHL" campaign.

I want to go to Emmanuel College in Boston, MA. Do you think I will get in?
IMG_4154

I really want to go to Emmanuel college in Boston. I'm a junior in high school, and have not yet taken the SATS or ACTS. I'm taking the ACTS in April, and the SATS in both May and June. My boyfriend just got declined from there and he has failed two classes in high school. I started stressing out about whether or not I would be able to get it. Please give me your opinions! thanks!

In late October, prior to their matchup with the Boston Bruins, fans will get a chance to watch as the Vancouver Canucks take to the ice in an open practice, presented by BC Hydro Power Smart. Fans will not only get to watch their team warm up, but will also get a chance to participate in various activities, ranging from face-painting, air hockey, shootout challenges and various prizes-giveaways, including autographed sticks used by real Canucks players. The event will take place at General Motors Place, on October 26, at 11:00 AM and is sure to be a hit both with families and diehard Canucks fans throughout Vancouver and Canada.

The Canucks kicked off this season with a fresh, young lineup in place and deep pockets ready for the trade and free agent deadline. Steve Bernier and Pavol Demitra, are among the many new faces who will grace General Motors Place this year, in Canucks uniforms. Meanwhile, Roberto Luongo, who has grown into arguably the league’s best goalie, was named team captain. In addition, the team has some of the world’s most dedicated and excited fans behind them, cheering them every step of the way.
