What omnipotent said is correct. Also, though, a shell is sometimes used over pants (not necessarily a girdle) as part of the uniform.

I played ice hockey for like 16 years now and im thinking about joining a roller hockey league this summer. So i got all the equipment for ice hockey, but what would i need for roller hockey and how much would it cost, is it just inline skates and roller hockey pants? How much?
Pretty much that is all you are gonna need = oh and if playing on asphalt, use a stick with an ABS blade as they're MUCH more durable than wood, fibreglass or carbonfibre

Are you talking about roller hockey or ice hockey? Any kind should work as long as they fit, and are padded to give you good protection. Doesn't hurt to get a good brand for durability though, such as an Easton or Bauer.
Do you need any upper body equipment in the 20 plus leagues? i have ice hockey shoulder pads and elbow pads also how much are roller hockey pants and can i use my ice hockey shin pads for roller?

Ice hockey gear is a bit bulkier but if you have it already, might as well use it, as it's much more protective, although if playing on asphalt I'd suggest getting "long pants"
