I don't play hockey but I love it and I also like art. I wanted to paint a goalie mask for an art project, but, i don't know which goalie helmet to use. I don't want to spend to much money on it though.
It doesn't matter if it's for street hockey or ice cause no one will be using it for protecting their head.
I was wondering if you guys could list some helmets that are good for this project.
I did not know there were different kinds, but this is a painting section. Maybe you could find more answers in the sports section. If it doesn't make a difference what kind of a helmet I would check out garage sales or creglist, even put an ad there. Get a used helmet, you will repaint it anyway. Maybe someone would donate one.
This is my old hockey helmet I was bored at work and decided to freshin up the paint a bit. It was a Bauer helmet but I like the Nike swoosh ...
I have a Hockey Goalie helmet...but it has retarded paint job.
What paint and what cover can i use for it?
You can get a simple cover coat for like a 100 bucks from a proffesional which i recommend because any other type of paint won't really look good unless its airbrushed on
Is it possible for me to spray paint it white?
It does void the warranty as Lubers pointed out. It also may compromise the structural integrity, but they say the same thing about the adhesive on helmet stickers.
Functionally, turning a white lid into a dark color is infinitely more simple than turning a black helmet white. You're looking at countless coats, streaking, varying shades and general mayhem. All that aside, darker helmets look a million times better than white ones.
So, given the multiple obstacles involved, I hope you're convinced that you're better off splurging for a new lid, both pragmatically and aesthetically.
My helmet is black and i want an orange one...is there a certain type of paint i could use that wont chip easily and will actually stay on my helmet for a good time?
and i dont mean a goaltender helmet...i play center..
Light sand
Spray on primer
Safety orange from a hunting/fishing store or a construction supply store.
So, repainting three rooms. Right now Its just getting the paint/Primer coat and it actually is a pretty flat white paint. My idea for one of the rooms is trying to paint small spots on the wall in Red, Yellow, and Blue. But the key is I want small spots, and I didn't really want it to run. I thought of putting the paint in some spray bottle but I doubt that would work. I have an airless sprayer But that puts out to much paint. (I thought of just standing back farther so it wouldn't coat the wall as much?)
I thought of just dipping the brush in the paint and then flicking it on the wall, but I fear again I'll get lines. I saw a thing of painting a hockey helmet and the guy sprayed water on the helmet and then sprayed paint on it. I guess the paint in the water droplets dried in a small water spots. (I'm not sure how that would look).
Any idea. ?
buy a small artist brush or use a Q tip
How To Paint Your Personality Onto Your Hockey Helmet | Everything ...
The hockey helmet is certainly an iconic piece of gear, whether on the roller rink or ice rink. It offers great protection to your head by gripping your head, specifically the occipital protuberance. The right sizing is therefore very important so that your head will be effectively protected from injuries.
The majority of hockey players will tell you that protection isn’t its only use. Wondering what is the other use of a helmet? Just as helmets protect your head, they also serve as your canvas where you can show your artistic abilities and make your helmet uniquely a part of yourself. Hockey is not just a type of contact sport. Art can certainly be used to show others what is your personality on the rink.
